King of the Castle 2022

King of the Castle returned in June 2022, presented by Clitheroe Skate Team working alongside the The Grand. Fantastic weather, great music, good food and three years of anticipation made for a fantastic day.

The competition started at around 1pm as swarms of skaters from across the North of England gathered at Clitheroe Skatepark for the annual skate festival. A number of local DJ’s made up the bill with DJ Rasp as the headline act.

The BBQ by local food consiuer Will Backhouse from Grounded fed the park throughout the afternoon and raised £132 for the skatepark with £1 from every item going towards the skatepark.

It was great to celebrate the talent of skaters young and old and see so many people of all generations coming to see the spectacle. A huge highlight of the day was seeing Clitheroe Skate team (a team of volunteers made up regular skaters at the park) come together to deliver their first public event.
