Let’s Dance
The Grand’s ballroom dancing sessions, led by experienced instructor Nigel Kirk, allow for the development of new dance skills with the opportunity of meeting new people who share a love for music and dance in a relaxed and friendly environment.
Nigel has been dancing since the age of 5, in Freestyle, Ballroom, Latin American and Classical Sequence.
After dancing with much success in amateur competitions, he began to train for his Professional qualifications, and subsequently took his Student Teacher and Associate Freestyle and Rock & Roll, Ballroom and Latin American Examinations. Further to this after achieving Highly Commended in his Freestyle Examination, he was put forward and won the coveted ISTD Phyllis Haylor Scholarship.
For the past 20 years, Nigel has been a Fellow and International Examiner with the ISTD and, and also an International Championship Adjudicator with the ADFP A working teacher who promotes dance in all its forms from student from 3 to 80 years old, not only in his own school, but also in Primary and Secondary schools, developing technique and choreographing routines for their annual shows, and lecturing on GCSE Dance modules. He has also been guest choreographer for numerous dance schools, delivering workshops, and Professional training throughout the North of England.
